Psychosocial support and strengthening the mental health of Ukrainian refugees

The project “Psychosocial support and strengthening the mental health of Ukrainian refugees” helps people who had to leave their homes because of the war to find stability, a sense of safety and trust in the future again.

Our goal is to strengthen mental health and support the integration of Ukrainian families, children and seniors into Czech society. We offer a space where they can share their experiences and talk about their difficulties, but also laugh, create and rediscover the joy of life.

What we do in the project

Group and individual support
At the AMIGA community centre we run support and therapy groups for children, adolescents, adults and seniors.
We help people cope with stress, anxiety and trauma caused by war and migration. The meetings are led by experienced psychologists, many of whom have refugee experience themselves.

Psychoeducation and online awareness-raising
On social media (Instagram, Telegram, YouTube, Facebook) we share videos, articles and interviews on mental health, parenting in exile, stress management and burnout prevention.
The aim is to spread clear information in Ukrainian, Russian and Czech, so that professional help is accessible to everyone.

Connecting communities
We cooperate with Czech organisations such as Diakonie, Zajíček na koni and Romodrom. Together we organise online discussions and events that help break down barriers and foster mutual understanding between people from different cultures.

Supporting professionals and the team
A multidisciplinary team of psychologists, intercultural workers and coordinators takes care of the activities. Regular supervision and professional consultations ensure that the help provided matches clients’ real needs.

The project is implemented with financial support from the City of Prague.
